Qualified and trade tested:
We are seeking a skilled and qualified Technicians, Diesel Mechanics, Boilermakers and Electricians to join our team in Rusternburg / Brits. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of mining machinery work experience, be highly
proficient in Trackless machines repairs, and possess a strong understanding of various mining equipment and machinery.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with heavy-duty machinery maintenance software and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage tasks efficiently.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new systems and technologie
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel-powered mining equipment and machinery.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and ensure machines are operating at peak performance.
- Repair or replace faulty parts, including engines, transmissions, high volume compressors, pumps, and hydraulics systems, ensuring all work complies with safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and labour hours.
- Respond to breakdowns and malfunctions of mining machinery in the field, ensuring minimal downtime and quick turnaround times.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks and ensure the equipment is in good working condition to prevent unexpected breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot complex diesel engine systems and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of work experience with mining machinery and diesel engines.
- Relevant qualification or similar technical field (e.g., Trade Test Certificate).
- Extensive knowledge and experience working on mining machinery, including Rigs, LHDs, and other large mining equipment.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair diesel engines and associated systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics in mining equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Valid driver’s license (Code 08 or higher), with own reliable transportation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, especially in emergency situations.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong safety mindset, adhering to all health and safety regulations in the mining industry.
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans (verbal and written) is preferred.
